Rory McIlroy denies rumors that he’s breaking up with Caroline Wozniacki, A number of Irish newspapers reported over the weekend that Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki have ended their relationship, which began in 2011. Quoting a “source close to McIlroy,” the Irish Independent reports that McIlroy initiated the split, but has remained quiet on the issue as he plays in The Barclays at Liberty National this weekend. It’s been a tough year for McIlroy, who relinquished his world No. 1 ranking to Tiger Woods, and many golf experts, including Gary Player and Johnny Miller, have said the relationship is to blame for McIlroy’s poor form on the course.

Wozniacki had changed her Twitter profile photo to one not featuring McIlroy, but she changed it back after the breakup rumors swirled.
