'Man v. Food' star loses 60 pounds

'Man v. Food' star loses 60 pounds, Adam Richman rose to fame with his hit television show, Man v. Food," but the sad part is that his weight also heightened along with his popularity. Now, People revealed on Sept. 15, 2013, that the eating-challenge superstar has lost 60 pounds and he's proud of his new look.

Richman's biggest methods of shedding the extra weight was by cutting back on white flour and dairy. Oh yeah, he also upped his daily exercise routine to get in better shape too. It hasn't been easy though.

"The crew got a bunch of pizzas, and it was all I could smell," he says. "It sucked. But I had a Greek yogurt with raw almonds, water and an iced coffee, and I was satisfied."
Richman was able to stop taking the giant food challenges when he ended up with a new series called "Man v. Food Nation." He'd still go around to big-time food challenges, but this time he would let his followers and fans take them instead.

Adam Richman has officially retired from extreme eating and the 39-year-old star is happy to be at his current size and in better shape. He's not bitter about anything though and is thankful for where he is today.

"Man v. Food was the biggest career-defining opportunity. I went from anonymity to someone of note with access to amazing eateries," he says.
