'Harmful' infection forces Elton John to cancel Las Vegas gigs, Those who were looking forward to seeing Elton John at his 'Million Dollar Piano' shows in Las Vegas, you may have to wait a little longer as the singer has pulled out of all of his gigs through next two months due to an illness.
A statement on behalf of the 70-year-old singer read, "During his return flight home from Santiago, Chile he became violently ill. Upon returning to the UK, Sir Elton's doctors admitted him to hospital, where he underwent immediate treatment to remove the infection," the Telegraph reported.
"After spending two nights in intensive care followed by an extended stay in hospital, Elton was released from hospital on Saturday, April 22 and is now comfortably resting at home per doctor's advice," it further read.
"Infections of this nature are rare and potentially deadly. Thankfully, Elton's medical team identified this quickly and treated it successfully. He is expected to make a full and complete recovery," the statement added.
In a statement, the 'Candle in the Wind' hit-maker apologised to his fans and praised the medical care he had received.
"I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologise for disappointing them. I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well," he said.

John, who cancelled the April and May dates of his Las Vegas residency and a show in Bakersfield, California - six dates in total, is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to return for his concert at Twickenham on June 3. (ANI)
